Meet Dr. Organ
     Dr. Gordon ("Gordie") Organ earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1972. He then attended the University of Toronto's Faculty of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1976. After practicing general dentistry in Toronto for one year, he realized where his passions lie and returned to the University of Toronto Graduate Orthodontic program where he received his Specialty Certification in 1979. Dr. Organ opened his orthodontic specialty practice in Erin Mills in 1979. Dr. Organ has been an Associate in Dentistry and Clinical Instructor at the University of Toronto in the Departments of Undergraduate and Graduate Orthodontics for over 28 years. He was also on staff at the Mt. Sinai Hospital, Dental Division for over 22 years, concentrating on the orthodontic care of physically challenged and indigent patients. In an effort to try and give back to the profession that has given him so much, Dr. Organ has served as President of the Ontario Association of Orthodontists and Canadian Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Organ has been granted Board Certification by the American Board of Orthodontists (ABO), an achievement that less than 50% of practicing Orthodontists in North America has realized. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists and the Canadian Dental Association. Recently, Dr. Organ was honoured with a Fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International. Dr. Organ continues to upgrade his skills by attending Continuing Education courses, staying current in recent advances in the art and science of Orthodontics. "Practicing Orthodontics has been a dream job for me. It has been an honour and a most humbling experience to have been entrusted with something so important as my patients' smiles. It is a responsibility that I take very seriously. That first look in the mirror after the braces are removed and the beaming face of a parent when their son or daughter flashes that first "brace-free" smile is what makes coming to work every day such a joy." Dr. Organ shares his life with his wife, Ellyn, and four delightful daughters whose accomplishments fill him with pride every single day. While away from the office, Dr. Organ enjoys running with his Irish setter, Bailey, and is an avid cyclist and laser sailor. He is an active sponsor of Erin Mills, Oakville, and Meadowvale baseball, soccer, and hockey teams. |
